Description
In 1916, a young woman journeys from the small coal-mining town of Mountain Park in the Canadian Rockies to the large coastal city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Lily Kinnerty agrees to help her uncle run his hat shop. Both widowed, they forge a bond so tight it carries them through this tumultuous period of history. While riding the new CN rail line to reach the coast, Lily meets Martin Patterson and feels she may have another chance at love, but conscription and subsequent illness separates the pair. During the Roaring Twenties, Lily builds a small hat empire, but the men she chooses to love are taken from her again and again. She is caught in a web of time where women have to fight to be heard. All the while Lily is seeking a man to cherish. Will she succeed? —- ISBN: 9781998190621
