Immerse yourself in the legacies of African women, woven through the tapestry of artistic expressions, and gripping stories of grit and grace in this new Rising Woman Series, Africa 7th Edition Volume II; a culmination of Global Group Media’s 7th NBC report on African and Global Women Leaders. This edition is a love letter to my mother Josephine Uzoamaka Kandero Aningo, who was diagnosed with Dementia 6 years ago; a silent leader who saw and conquered abject poverty to raise 5 resilient adults. Being her 4th child, she inspired me to found a global PR firm, Global Group Media and spearhead the creation and creative direction of the Rising Woman Series & Global Women in Leadership Series , focused on documenting the achievements of notable women across the Global South shattering numerous glass ceilings, and Author, My real name is . The Rising Woman Series, Africa 7th Edition Volume II, is a homage to my mother, sisters, nieces, aunties, neighbors, community, and silent African women leaders across and beyond Africa. It is also a curious search for my place in the world, as a Nigerian, an African, a woman—a woman of color—and my continent’s place in the world. It is a celebration of African women collectively because of our upbringing rooted in culture, diversity, and a quest for oneness–not separation, attesting to the African woman’s sense of responsibility, selflessness, generosity, laughter, and warmth. After extensive research, touring continents, hosting exclusive one-on-one interviews, and burrowing through photographs and poetry, we decided to create a Post-International Women’s Day publication to spotlight a collection of over 250 carefully curated African and global women across Africa and beyond who are silent leaders in their industries including health and wellness, AI/STEM, politics & policy, energy transition, finance and investment, climate change, etc., while contributing to the global discourse on gender equality, equity, and inclusion. Some prominent women featured in this collection are the Former First Lady of South Africa and Mozambique and Founder of Graça Machel Trust, Graça Machel; the Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu Hassan; the Director of Public Policy West Africa, Meta Platforms Inc, Adaora Ikenze; Founder of Impact Fund for African Creatives, Gen. hana, Roberta Annan; Founder, Askalite Formula USA & Ethiopia, Hiwot Yohannes and many others. All featured artworks are created by and or influenced by African women and are available for sale in original, print, signed and unsigned options by the artist.
