He discovered his vocation at the early age of three, guided by his uncle, who was also an artist. After finishing his schooling, he entered the Mendoza School of Fine Arts. Tired of painting urns, he decided he wanted to draw comic strips and humor. His first book, Quino s World, appeared in 1963. One year later, one of his most famous characters (and comics), Mafalda, made her debut in Leoplán magazine.
